My name is Andie and I would like to welcome you to Gatumi!
~ Brief History
Gatumi was originally created in Greece in the year 2009 for the purpose of creating hairfalls inspired by cyperpunk, anime and gothic fashion. It was a step I never regretted taking! :)
Almost a year later I was drawn into the magical world of jewelry making, which I stuck to until now. All it took was an afternoon with my dad, also a self-taught jewelry maker, who showed me the very basics of this art that I came to love SO dearly!
After that I devoted most of my free time experimenting with different materials, especially in the realm of rosary chains, glass sealed jewelry, wire-wrapping, resin and clustered bracelets. The rest was history!
Gatumi originally started selling on Etsy on June 2009, which was the exclusive selling venue and social outlet for the brand until July 2017.
Gatumi is a place where you will find a wide assortment of handcrafted kawaii jewelry and accessories, inspired by my lifelong obsession with Anime and Gaming, Jfashion.... and let's not forget CATS!!
All my creations are heavily influenced by Japanese fashion trends and all things cute!
by a crafty nerd for fellow fans around the world; my goal is to create
flattering, wearable and "out of the ordinary" jewelry pieces.
my creations I always make sure to follow the latest trends, turning
them into original creations, always using re-purposed and up-cycled authentic, collectible figures from Japan.
Anime figures hold a huge sentimental value, serving as a reminder not only of our beloved characters, but also paying tribute to our favorite creators, and most importantly making a statement; if you love something, why not show the world? xD
Favorite materials include my ever so favorite tarnish-resistant stainless steel, the ever so colorful acrylic beads, nostalgic pewter findings, glossy hand-poured resin... and SWAROVSKI crystals! :D

~ Brand name origins
The name Gatumi is derived from my love for the feline species, simply a wordplay on the Greek word "γάτα" (pronounced "gata", which means Cat)! =^.^=
